Infrastructure

Infrastructure is the supply of goods and services that promote wealth and growth while improving people’s quality of life. Transport infrastructure promotes the formation of links between areas within and outside of a country, so promoting the development of reciprocal economic, social, and cultural contacts. This resulted from the construction of Port Mombasa and the direct link with other transportation facilities between Mombasa and other counties and nations. This argument demonstrates the significance of transportation infrastructure in Kenya. Road accidents and fatalities, on the other hand, are one of Kenya’s most serious transportation infrastructure issues.

” Every year, over 3,000 people are killed on Kenyan roadways, with pedestrians accounting for over half of all fatalities. ”

Aside from that, social safety, such as sexual harassment and robbery, is a key issue in Kenya’s roads and transportation infrastructure. Because of the high frequency of accidents, the subject of transportation safety and, by extension, road infrastructure can be raised. The safety of the route between Mtwapa and Bomani is being investigated to show development opportunity in each point to this topic. This is the primary link to the north coast medical college, which is located 10 kilometers north of Mtwapa in Kenya’s Kilifi County in a small village called Bomani. Because this is a rural location, it is even more appealing as a potential improvement site. Therefore the research question for this study would be:

“How are road safety issues on the road between Bomani and Mtwapa (B8 highway)?”

Indications of road safety issues and development opportunities along this road may lead to more road infrastructure construction. These developments have the potential to have a direct impact on the safety and livability of this urban area
